With the current horrific violence in Israeli and the West Bank and Gaza, many Israelis, Palestinians and American Jews have given up on ever reach peace. Yet, according to Alan Elsner, the two-state solution remains the only viable way to resolve the conflict. This talk will examine why the current situation is unsustainable. Elsner believes that if the parties continue on their present course, Israel’s future as a democracy and Jewish homeland will come under increasing threat. His lecture is entitled:

Dr. Afridi is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Interfaith Education Center at Manhattan College. An observant Muslim who teaches courses both in Islam and the Holocaust at a Catholic college, many of Dr. Afridi’s publications have focused on themes of Muslim identity with an emphasis on the way that Antisemitism has been expressed by her contemporaries. read more

Shlomi Eldar, a seasoned analyst, reporter and award-­‐winning film director, has covered the Palestinian Authority and the Gaza Strip for Israel’s TV Channels 1 and 10. He was awarded the Sokolov Prize, Israel’s most important news media award. He has published two books: Eyeless in Gaza (2005) and Getting to Know Hamas (2012).

Presently, Eldar is a columnist for Al‐Monitor’s Israel Pulse. He wrote and directed the documentary “Precious Life” which was awarded best documentary of 2010 by the Israeli Film Academy. read more

For many years it was tough to be a pro-Israel pro-peace Jew in America. J Street has changed the political monopoly of AIPAC and has insisted on the right of Jewish pluralism, that is the right have a peace and two-states treaty on the American political map. read more
